An Unfolding Plan
After two years in the military, I felt like I was stuck in a rut. The daily routine of waking up, working out, eating, going to work, and repeating the cycle was suffocating me. Being stationed in a remote area of Louisiana only added to my frustration. I felt like I was losing myself in the process.
One day, I reached out to my mom, feeling desperate for a change. Out of nowhere, I told her I wanted to start photography. I had always admired great photos, but I never thought I could take them myself. My mom might not have taken me seriously at the time, but something inside me sparked a new passion.
Despite having no experience or money, I bought my first camera – a Sony full-frame mirrorless camera. My first shoot was an automotive session for a friend's Mustang, and to my surprise, the photos turned out great. But what really caught my attention was a stranger who parked his car and asked to get his photo taken on the spot. His photos turned out well too, and it was then that I realized I might be onto something.
As I continued to take photos and practice editing, people started to take notice. Some would park and watch, while others would ask about my work. I even helped host an automotive event, and suddenly, everyone was asking for photos. It was surreal, but I soon realized that it wasn't just about my skills or work – it was about God's plan unfolding.
Before I started my journey with Christ, I believed in God but didn't have a deep connection. However, as I continued to pray and seek guidance, I began to understand that the ups and downs of my photography journey were teaching me valuable lessons. I learned to rely on God for ideas and inspiration, and my creativity flourished.
Now, I ask God to help me with ideas, and I'm amazed at how much more fluently I can brainstorm. My photography journey has become a testament to the power of faith and perseverance. I'm grateful for the twists and turns that led me to where I am today, and I'm excited to see what the future holds.
